Hosted by the Korean Nutrition Society (KNS), a guest society at ASN’s 2014 Annual Meeting

Honoring the 2014 KNS Awardee. The objective of this award is:
To improve understanding and co‐operation between the Korean Nutrition Society (KNS) and the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) in nutritional matters of common interest and concern. To promote excellence in nutrition research conducted by a North American scientist who is an ASN member and who is engaged with KNS, Korea or related collaborators or studies.

Title:   Associate Professor and F.J. Francis Endowed Chair
Institution:  University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst, MA

Research Interest: Dr. Park’s research team focuses on the biological function of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and the biological active compounds from natural or dietary sources. Using both animal and tissue culture models, the prevention of critical diseases (such as obesity, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and cardiovascular diseases) is investigated.
